  • Neither weight change nor preceding calorie or carbohydrate intake appeared to influence the glucose disappearance rates of the obese subjects on self-selected diets for periods up to 2 yr. These findings do not support the view that an abnormality in glucose metabolism causes disturbance in food intake that leads to obesity
